‘The 7 Deadly Sins’ Tag

No one in particular tagged me for this. I just found it online and it seemed super fun so I thought I’d do it! You can check out the blog I got it from here. It’s a very simple tag. There are seven questions based on the seven deadly sins. Let’s get started!

1.) Greed: what is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

After discovering BookOutlet, I can proudly say I have quite a few inexpensive books. One that I can think of on top of my head is Far Far Away by Tom McNeal that only cost me 99 cents! (AND it was a hardcover!)

Now the most expensive books I own is a box set (I hope that still counts). It also wasn’t bought by me, it was a gift! But, nonetheless, it was still expensive. It’s the leather cloth bound edition of A Song of Ice and Fire! The box set online cost $70. It’s a bit more expensive in stores. Okay, who am I kidding, it’s a lot more expensive in stores. It would have been over $100. But…they’re so pretty! It probably still would have been worth it.

2.) Wrath: what author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I had to think for a bit for this question. I don’t think I have a love/hate relationship with any authors. But if I must choose, I would have to say Victoria Aveyard. I absolutely loved Red Queen. But I couldn’t look past the fact that it was just so similar to so many other YA dystopian novels (Hunger Games, Divergent, etc.)

3.) Gluttony: what book have you devoured over and over again with no shame?

I don’t think I have a book that I’ve read over and over that will qualify to be chosen for this question. So, I’m putting my own little twist. I’m going to choose one book that I think I WILL end up devouring again and again…soon… That will have to be Carrie by Stephen King. Classic.

4.) Sloth: what book have you neglected due to laziness?

I can say I’ve neglected a lot of Stephen King books, even though he’s my all time favourite author. A lot of his works are just really heavy reads so I find I have to constantly prepare myself emotionally and mentally. And then I end up just pushing them back lower down my TBR pile. The Stand is a good example. Have you seen that monstrosity?! It’s over 1,000 pages! I really do hope to get to it soon though.

5.) Pride: what book do you talk about most in order to sound like an intellectual reader?

Really? Do I have to expose myself this way? Lol. *Sigh* well alright then. I’ll have to say A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Being able to quote and just simply say that I’ve read the book where the quote “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” came from makes me feel a little too proud of myself.

6.) Lust: what attributes do you find attractive in male (or female) characters?

Normalcy without bordering mediocrity. That’s not too much to ask of a character, right? I like when a character is “normal.” It makes them more realistic. But I don’t want them to be mediocre either…or plain boring. I like them to have flaws, to have struggles, to have insecurities, to sometimes even doubt themselves from time to time so they don’t seem too arrogant. I love when a character feels real. As for physical attributes, I don’t think I have any. I mostly trust however the author chooses to physically portray their characters. (I do appreciate diversity though)

7.) Envy: what book would you like to receive as a gift?

Oh man, do I have to choose just one? Can I just give my entire wishlist? Lol. Okay, you know what… If I’m going to do this, I’m going to go all out. After all, it IS one of the deadly sins, right? *Wink wink* I would probably be over the moon if I were to be ever gifted a Harry Potter box set! I’ve only read the first two books (hey, don’t judge) so I would love if I got a little help on collecting all the books! And the box set is just so pretty! I mean, look at it!

This was such a fun book tag! I enjoyed it 🙂 I hope you guys try this out. And you should, if you’re reading this! Say I tagged you. I would love for you guys to try this one out. Leave the link in the comments below to yours when/if you decide to do it. I want to see! Have fun! ❤

  1. This looks like so much fun! I love all your choices, and I’d die if I received that Harry Potter box set – LOOK AT THOSE SEXY SPINES!
Ditto on Aveyard for wrath. *thumbs up*
I know my Pride off the top of my head would be having read Pride and Prejudice and having disliked it. There isn’t too many books I don’t like so I enjoy saying that I’ve actually read Jane Austen and though I found her witty her stories were mostly bland.

    1. I’ve tried reading Pride and Prejudice probably about 4 times now… And I never get further than 10 pages. It’s so sad lol! I don’t think I’m ready to give up yet, though 😛

AND OMG ABOUT THE HARRY POTTER BOX SET! They’re just so beautiful I can’t help but get jealous every time I see someone with it on bookstagram 😥

      1. I made it about 60% and I feel pretty good about saying I’m finished. I’ve got Wuthering Heights sitting on my shelf that I haven’t touched though (yay for Barnes & Noble bargain classics for $3!)
OMIGOSH YESS. And they’re always next to the Lunar Chronicles or the Mortal Instruments and they are so photogenic together!! Instant love.
