A huge thank you to Ashley from Inside My Minds for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Both big (like this award) AND even small recognitions (like briefly mentioning my blog in your posts) are things that I’m more than grateful for, so thank you! Let’s just get to this award, shall we? ๐
Rules:
โ Thank the person who nominated you.
โ Answer 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
โ Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.
These are my answers to the amazing and creative questions that Ashley came up with:
1.) What is your favorite part about where you live?
This is a pretty flexible question, so I’m going to bend it just a little bit… I know people from around the world read my blog posts, so I’m going to mention the country as a whole that I reside in which is Canada. Honestly, Canada is just an amazing country all around. I mean, we’ve recently turned Liberal ๐ Also, our food. Have you tried authentic poutine? How about beaver tails? Come visit me and let’s eat!
2.) How do you find out about new books?
Bookstagram, Goodreads, and the Booktube community! Which is why I’m glad I’m part of these amazing communities! Books everywhere ๐
3.) Physical books or eBooks?
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’d know already that as much as I love and appreciate eBooks, I am loyal to my physical books. You can read my whole post about physical books vs. ebooks here.
4.)Blogging or Booktubing?
Very, very good question. For now, I would definitely have to say blogging. I am a part of the booktube community, but I’m more dedicated to my book blog. I think, for now anyway, I’m a lot more comfortable sharing my passion for literature through blogging.
5.) Harry Potter or Percy Jackson?
Aaaah… Here’s the thing… I’ve only read the first two books of the Harry Potter series. I know, I know. Shame on me. I am currently reading the last book in the Percy Jackson series, though. So, would it really be fair for me to make a choice if I hadn’t read all the Harry Potter books? Probably not. Before you throw tomatoes at me, just know that I really am planning to read all the Harry Potter books by the end of 2016!
6.) How often do you use Goodreads?
Very often. I use it all the time to update my reading progress, and to check out what my friends are reading and shelving, etc. I also like to go on the recommendations page when I’m feeling like discovering new books!
7.) When did you start blogging?
Very recently, actually. I’ve only been in the book blogging community for about 2 months. I started at the end of March and it’s been so amazing! One of the best decisions I’ve made, that’s for sure.
8.) How did you discover your love of reading?
Hmm, another good question. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moving to Canada (when I was only 11 years old) forced me to learn the English language. To help me out with this, I took it upon myself to read as much as I could. It wasn’t a surprise, really, to learn that I actually enjoyed reading. A lot. And so my love for literature was born!
9.) Which fictional character would you summon if you were stranded on a stranded island and why?
Honestly, I’d probably summon Percy Jackson. Lol. You can’t blame me, I’m still currently obsessed with the Percy Jackson series. So all my brain can think of right now is that series and characters from that series. Percy Jackson would be an amazing company (and help) on an island, seeing as he’s the son of Poseidon and all. Maybe he could summon fish ponies to help me escape said island. Or maybe we could just stay stranded and talk about what it’s like being a demigod ๐
10.) If you could take and switchย fictional characters from one world (i.e. Narnia) and put them in another world (i.e. Middle Earth), which characters would you choose and why?
Hahahaha, this may seem cruel, but I think I’d put the characters from the Percy Jackson series and put them in the world of Hunger Games and vice versa. I’d love to see how that would play out…
11.) What is your all time favorite book to movie adaptation?
I’d have to go with Gone Girl. I thought the movie adaptation executed the important parts of the book quite well. I was surprised but impressed nonetheless.
Now for the questions I’d love to read your answers to:
1.) Do you like going into books completely blind or do you prefer having an idea or a sense of understanding of what you’re about to read?
2.) Are you more of morning reader or a night reader?
3.) Do you like to listen to music when you read or do you prefer complete silence?
4.) What is your favourite genre to read?
5.) Approximately how many books are on your TBR list?
6.) Are you more of a coffee or tea drinker?
7.) When you want to go back to your childhood days, which book(s) do you usually read (re-read)?
8.) What is the one thing you do to destress?
9.) Is there a book/series that everyone loved but you didn’t? If so, which one and why?
10.) What is your favorite season?
11.) If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?

The Percy Jackson characters in the Hunger Games? That’s a book I’d want to read. Actually, I think a visual version (cinema or comic book) would be awesome! Congratulations for being nominated, it was nice to get to know you since I just recently subscribed to your blog!
